Last week we had a Multicultural Week to celebrate the diverse range of cultures and backgrounds at Anderson’s Bay School. Each class learned about different countries and cultures.
To conclude the week, we had a dress up day where children and teachers, dressed in clothes that best represented their culture. The whole school got together to watch a parade of each class in their outfits.
Later in the morning we had a multicultural performance. There was an amazing variety of items from China, Thailand, India, Cook Islands, Ireland, France, Jordan, Korea and England and Iran.
All the classes enjoyed a shared multicultural lunch in their rooms at lunch time.
In the afternoon, each learning team got together in Te Paihere, to share some items about one country that they had focused on during the week.
It was a most enjoyable, successful day!
